Program/Event Booking and Cancellation Policy

While we do our best to schedule and deliver programs, we have these requirements since our programs and events involve live animals.

Education birds are living creatures. Therefore, for their safety, comfort, and well-being we are not permitted to be off site for more than 10 hours. Due to the needs of our birds, we reserve the right to refuse any program that puts the safety and well-being of our birds and volunteers at risk.

Our birds can not be shown should the temperature not reach 40 degrees F, or if it exceeds 90 degrees.  Should precipitation develop, proper cover shall be made available for the program to continue under safe and dry conditions.

Programs must be booked at least 3 weeks in advance. You are required to submit a program agreement form and photo of program space at least 2 weeks before the program date.

Space requirements: Maryland Raptor Conservancy and birds must be able to maintain a minimum of 5 feet space from audience members.

If you need to cancel or reschedule a program, please contact us as soon as possible. Program cancellations made within 1 week of the program will still be charged 50% of the program cost. Rescheduling fees may apply. Programs canceled by Maryland Raptor Conservancy will not be charged.

The Maryland Raptor Conservancy has the right to cancel any program or event if traveling conditions are deemed dangerous to the welfare of the volunteers and/or birds being transported.

Maryland Raptor Conservancy can travel to locations up to two hours away (four hours round trip). Our education birds that travel with us are small to large birds such as falcons and owls. Please note, due to federal/state and liability insurance requirements, we cannot let program/event attendees touch or handle our birds.
